| Edward J. Resnick, MD
Dr Resnick has had a longstanding and almost continuous relationship with Temple University and its School of Medicine and Hospital for more than 50 years. He is presently a Professor in the School of Medicine and a member of the staff of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery of Temple University Hospital.
Over the years, his clinical and teaching interests have included chronic pain and its causes and treatment, orthopaedic trauma, and education in orthopaedic surgery for physicians who are not orthopaedists. He has traveled extensively, and he has undertaken many trips both here and abroad engaged in education and training for orthopaedic surgeons and other medical professionals. He has volunteered abroad for Medico and has taught orthopaedic surgery topics in several foreign countries.
Dr Resnick has a continuing interest and active participation in many types of medical organizational work. In this respect, his activities have included presidencies of such organizations as the Philadelphia County Medical Society, the Philadelpha Orthopaedic Society, The Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society and the Medical Club of Philadelphia. In addition, he has served on Committees and Boards of these and several other important organizations, such as the Philadelphia College of Physicians and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is an active member of the Temple-Shriners Orthopaedic Alumni Association and the John Lachman Society.
His connections to his Alma Mater remain strong. He has served two terms as the president of the Medical Alumni Association and has had many years of service on the Board and committees of the Temple University Alumni Association. His interest in music has rewarded him with an appointment that delights him; he has been made a member of the Board of Visitors of the Boyer School of Music of Temple University. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber Ensemble of Philadelphia and a member of the Philadelphia Musical Fund Society, which supports music and musicians in the area.
Dr Resnick's other interests include opera, travel, private flying and fishing. He is an avid attendee at orchestra, instrumental, vocal and theatre performances. However, his primary and consuming interest remains orthopaedics, and he is proud and happy to continue this work at Temple.
